In a series of 12 soft cover books, the Institute of Modern Sewing provided the "Extension Course in Home Sewing" for women and girls in 1921. All twelve vintage books in great condition are included! Inside you will discover 20 lessons from "Necessary Equipment for Home Sewing and Essential Stitches" to "Dresses, Designing from Plain Foundation."

In the original sturdy slipcase (which does have some light soiling, and edge wear -- especially on the bottom binding), these books are a delight! Each with a calico blue and tan cover, they are full of charming and informational illustrations.

The set belonged to "Hazel Pomeroy" who did inscribe her name on the cover of the slipcase and on each cover of the 12 books. There are no other markings.

The back cover of the slipcase bears this adorable comment: "Every girl should be instructed in the art of making artistic clothes. In these text books will be found methods which are rapid and easy -- many of them new and original."
